Sail from Japan to Taiwan and back during cherry blossom season, on a two-week voyage that takes in some of Asia-Pacific’s most striking destinations. Setting off from Tokyo, we sail to Shimizu, considered one of Japan’s most beautiful ports because of its outlook on Mount Fuji. We continue west to Kobe, renowned as a culinary hotspot and a good base for visits to Kyoto. A day at sea then takes us to the coral-fringed Okinawa archipelago, before we reach Taiwan, stopping at Keelung, a gateway to Taipei. Sailing back to Japan, we call in at Kogoshima and Kochi before returning to Tokyo.

After leaving Singapore, this richly varied voyage arrives at Port Klang, the cultural gateway to Kuala Lumpur, closely followed by Georgetown on Penang, a colorful city that blends Malay and Chinese cultures. The blissful beaches in Phuket, Thailand, are next, before Port Blair, a remote island in the Andaman Sea that is well off the tourist trail. After two days at sea, our next stop is Hambantota, with its botanical gardens, then we sail to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling capital. We set a leisurely pace spending a day sailing to Cochin, then another day sailing to Goa’s serene shores at Mormugao. We conclude our journey with an overnight stay in Mumbai, and ample opportunity to soak up the city’s effervescent energy.

Enjoy a round trip from Tokyo taking in the highlights of Japan and South Korea. First, we head for Kobe, famous with foodies and a good place to strike out for the city of Kyoto. We continue to Kochi, with its Shogun castle, before sailing to poignant Hiroshima. Our next port of call is Moji, with its historic waterfront, before we reach South Korea, a society that offers visitors ancient and modern delights, ready to explore in Yeosu, Jeju island and Incheon near Seoul, as well as Busan, much loved by Koreans for its setting and magnificent temple of Beomeo-sa. Sailing back to Japan, we stop at Nagasaki, now a vibrant and charming city, and call in at Fukuoka, renowned for its cuisine. Our next port of call is Sakaiminato, followed by Kanazawa, home to the exceptionally beautiful garden of Kenrokuen. Heading north up the coast we stop at Sakata followed by Aomori, with its striking art gallery, and proceed to Hakodate, in the shadow of the mountain of the same name, before returning to Tokyo.

Departing from Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling capital, we set a leisurely pace with a day at sea as we make our way to Cochin, a captivating city in the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. The enchanting jumble of modernity and tradition is reflected in its architecture, from ancient temples to British colonial-era buildings. Look out for the iconic Chinese fishing nets that make this one of the most photographed destinations in India. Another day’s sailing brings us to Goa’s serene shores at Mormugao, where Indo-Portuguese mansions, spice plantations, and golden beaches await exploration.
